HVAC techs?

We moved into this house in August last year (we're renting). When we came to look at the house, the landlord told us that he had just installed a new Trane heating and cooling system. Top of the line! So I thought, awesome. Well, two days before we move in, he lets us know that the AC part wasn't working properly, and they had to fix it. So a couple days after we move in, the guy comes to fix it. Well, it didn't get fixed. So here I am in a tiny house with no AC in the middle of August. They bring over a couple of window AC units until the guy fixes it. Took about a week to get a new unit installed. Then there was something wrong with THAT one, and it took another week to have it fixed. Then last night, our heat goes out. On the coldest night this week. Before it completely went out, we'd have to have the heat up at 77 in order for it to be liveable. Well, now here we are. The guy comes this morning to look at it. He's here for about an hour, then tells me that he has to order a part and it'll take a week. A week in the summer I can deal with, but not now! It's 59 degrees in here right now, and I'm fucking FREEZING! I have to wait for my landlord to get back to me about space heaters, but he's at work. Of course.

So here's my question: since my landlords have a contract with this company, would they deliberately screw stuff up so they have to keep coming back out? It's been the same guy every time, and he's a little strange. Not creepy, just strange.

could be possible...this is a slow time for hvac techs. i would talk to your landlord about reducing rent since you didnt have any heat!

Well, we're moving out in 10 days (thank GOD), so I'm not too concerned with the rent. It's just really freaking cold!
