? about filing my W2's

I am  a Substitute teacher  but I didn't all that much last year.. I goy my W2 but there was no federal income tax taken out. Do I still need to file? Please help

I believe you still need to file, even if you owe no taxes and are due no refund.  The IRS makes it your responsibility to prove that you do not owe.

I think so.  IF you make a certain amount you have to file.  Go to IRS.gov and check around there for more help.

Okay I have another ? My SO claimed my son this year.. I am doing the free turbo tax online and it asked if I had any nondependents to add to my return.. So I said yes and it bumped up my return incredibly... Can I do that or not.. I am very confused

If you made more than $600 you have to file.

No.

He claimed the child you do not.

You should not be due any return since you did not pay in...and you have no dependant to get any credits for.

Also if your SO claimed you...you need to check that box on your return.
