So I just found out that once again SO's wonderful unit has changed his deployment date. He was supposed to deploy April 22nd which by the way is 3 days before our baby, his first biological baby, is due. So fine whatever, they were going to let him stay back a few days until the baby was born and then he was going to join his unit. He even got his orders in writing for that day. Well now, once again, they changed the deployment day to March 23rd, what the hell. They keep changing his deployment days, first he was supposed to deploy back in september, then in december, then it was november, then it was march then april then may then april again and now it's march. Seriously???? I have been planning the baby and everything in our lives around his deployment and they keep changing it. And now I also just find out that my baby has an arethmia in her heart, I have to be going to a specialist for the remainder of my pregnancy, plus she is breech and if she doesn't turn in the next 4 weeks I might have to have a c-section which I dont really want cause i've never had one and I'm kinda scared. So Im extremely worried about that. Im on a strict no caffeine diet ans I have to take iron pills cause I have an iron deficiency too even though I have been taking my prentals since I got pregnant, it's just a lot. And now to think that he is leaving sooner than expected, I dont have time to get anyone in my family down here to help me after the baby is born and I dont know anyone where I live at all cause I just moved here and it's only SO's stepmom here and his dad which I dont get along with....aaaarrgghhhhh it just seems like its too much to handle and I know I can't stress out because Im pregnant so I always try to look at the bright side of things. But its kinda hard when everything is going wrong. Sorry so long thank you for letting me vent..... Any thoughts?

Can he ask for a delay due to the baby's medical condition?

No because they baby isn't at risk of dying or something like that. They said they "might" let him come back for a few days when the baby is born but it's not likely since he will be all the way in Iraq that he will make it for the birth

Sorry they keep changing the dates on you, that really has to suck for planning.

This may be an odd idea, but if he is going to be gone for your birth and you don't have any close family-- what about hiring a doula, someone to support you no matter what happens.  I know a c-section is scary, but the bottom line is getting you and baby healthy.  Good luck with the specialist.
