My son's teacher is teaching him CRAP!! what would you do
My husband and I are christains, so we do NOT believe in Mother Nature. And we've taught our 3 kids this as well.
My son is 6 and in Kindergarten. He came home from school the other day talking about spring. Then he said "Mom, Mother Nature brings in spring." I told him that Mother Nature is not real and GOD brings in spring. He got upset. "NO Mom! Mrs. ****** says that MOTHER NATURE does." He was very agitated that I was defying his teacher and saying she was wrong.
So I went to the school and asked his teacher abou this. Her response. He needs to be taught about ALL religions including Wicca.
I don't think so!!!!!
IMO no religions should be taught in school for this exact reason. Talk to the principal.
We say mother nature too...but its only a saying to refer to the weather and the season. Not a Goddes or anything. My kids believe in God and know that science and meteorology have nothing to do with God
I dont think she was teaching him anything wrong...but if you do, you can always request a meeting with her
I would go way over her head. I'm Christian and I don't even want that taught in schools because not all Christians believe the same things and I want to make sure my children aren't confused.
Do you have the option of a private, Christian school? That response was COMPLETELY wrong on her part, UGH!
DH and I have accepted that, to keep certain CRAP being taught in public schools out of our son's curriculum, our options will be homeschooling (which isn't an option for us) or a private Christian school. He's 20 months and we all ready have a few in mind to interview. Its really not as expensive as some might think. The ones we're considering are around $2200/year for 1/2 day kindergarten.

Then Now

Wow i would be pissed. I really think religion in public schools shouldn't be taught and if thats what is saying she is teaching i would contact the princiapl
Is mother nature a religion????? It's an expression used to explain weather. I don't get why the teacher made that comment, for it was ridiculous.
Weather includes clouds, the sun, air, and water all working together. Eventually your son is going to learn about the water cycle, and the impact clouds, air pressure, wind, and our atmosphere have when it comes to weather.
