I crave turkey sandwhiches and I just learned that it is bad for you when pregnant I ate it a lot with my son and now I feel bad!
It is way over processed. Most containing high nitrates.

"Abandoning the children in the forest to feed ourselves/ We will all stay more healthy if we do not distribute wealth/ Aimed friendly fire/ There is only greed living the life that we desire/ As we set sail across the raging sea/ Unconquerable by reality....." Anti-Flag.
i worked in a deli when i was pregnany and ate it all the time with no problems
Probably the high sodium content and sulfites/preservatives.
I could be wrong, but I believe it's because of the sodium nitrate. It's also in hot dogs. Sodium nitrate isn't good for anyone, pregnant or not.
This is what the doctor told me. However I ate it a few times during pregnancy.. My doctor also said its OK if you heat it up but most people dont like hot cold cuts.. im not sure if its even true.

Lunch meat can carry listeria which can lead to birth defects and even miscarriages.
"How many times must the cannonballs fly before they are forever banned? How many ears must one man have before he can hear people cry? And how many deaths will take till he knows that too many people have died? How man years can some people exist before they're allowed to be free? How many times can a man turn his head and pretend that he just doesnt see? The answer my friends is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind."-Bob Dylan
This is why I was told not to eat it. But if you have it toasted, it should keep the listeria out of it.
