My step kids mom called us this past August and told us she wanted to sign over her rights to her 2 kids. So we started the step parent adoption Process. The lady at the court house doesn't know what she is doing and has lost our paperwork 2 diff times!!...But FINALLY today we got a letter in the mail saying our final hearing is May 21!! And they will be legally mine!!! I am SUPER excited we have had a VERY hard road with her, and we will not have to worry about it an longer!!!

Just had to share my excitement with everyone!!!

Congratulations.  It actually made me smile how happy you are to be adopting your children.  The world would be a little better place if all step parents were as loving as you.

Congrats and good luck!

Just wondering though......

what does something like this cost? If you don't mind me asking.

My oldest wants my husband to adopt him, however, since he's 17 years old and his bio dad refuses to sign his rights over we may wait until  he's 18 years old and do the adult adoption thing.

awesome for you and for those kids, at least they will be loved by some one that truly cares for them and their well being.
