Tounge-tied? Did you get it fixed? I just found out my 5 m/o is, and I was just wondering how common or uncommon it is....

I had a friend that's tongue tied and he never got it fixed. I was in choir with him in high school, and he had no problems. The only thing he couldn't do was roll his "r"s... Which is common when singing in other languages... but there are ways around it. I wouldn't worry about it unless it will impair his speech severely.

One of my cousin's boys are tounge tied. He's 4 years old now, but I dont know if she's done anything for it or not? You could ask her. Her screan name is CCC's. I'm sure she'd love to give you her input on it!

Not using technical terms at alllll. Tounge-tied is when the muscle the connects your tounge to the bottom of your mouth is to short. He can't hold a pacifier in his mouth....which is why I asked about it....it was odd to me that he was 5 mos, and couldn't keep it in!! But he never had feeding problems...
