Working Out/ Exercising After Pregnancy

Hey Ladies! I was wondering how long should you wait to start working out/ exercising after you had your baby? Mine baby will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. I went to the doc yesterday and I and 6 pounds lighter than I was before I got pregnant. I am wanting to lose about 40-50 pounds. But dont know when it would safe for me to start.

What did your doctor say? I was told not to start a program until I got cleared at my 6 week appointment.
