so hubby and i were walking around the mall and we notice this lil baby..well he was about 3 i guess walking around kinda on his own. so we stopped to see if anyone was watching him and we couldnt tell. hubby decided that we should kinda sit by and just make sure he stays ok until we can figure out if he was with anyone or lost..he didnt look concerned. well then he made a B line for the escalators!! we figured that any minute now some one would pop out and stop him ..his dad or mom or something like that...NOPE he got right on them all wobbly and everything so hubby and i ran over and got him before he got to far up and then out of nowhere here comes his dad running over in a panic~!! he had been playing video games at the video store display and completely ignored is 3 year old!! if we wouldnt have stopped the lil guy he would have fallen down that escalator i know it he could hardly walk well let alone stand for that long!! all i got to say is that man was lucky that we got his son because he would have a hard time explaining to his wife why there son was in the hospital!!

Scary.  He must have been younger than 3 because most 3yr olds are steady on their feet.  So, what did the dad say?

That's what I was thinking. Both my son and my daughter are very steady on their feet. They are both 2 at the moment, but my son just turned 2 and my daughter will be 3 in exactly a week. :)

That's terrifying. I wonder where the mom was. Maybe the man wasn't the dad but an older brother? :( Who knows though.

Eek..... IT seems like when I go  places I'm always watching out for other people's kids too.  That is scary.

Thank god you and your DH stopped him! That could have ended very badly. My DH used to work in a casino and he would constantly tell me stories of adult and children getting hurt on the escalators. If I were you I would have given the father a verbal bitch slap!

and if he didnt speak english....then how in the world do you know that he was playing video games and lost track of his son while he was doing it? Or that he had a wife? Im sorry, Im not trying to be rude but the story is confusing to me.

I had something like that happen to me.  I used to work at a jewelry store in the mall and I saw this toddler walking around by himself.  I left the store (had someone cover me) and got the little boy.  I took him to the security office.  He didn't speak English either.  When his relative finally showed up, she seemed mad at ME.  I was blown away.  You would think that you would be grateful that someone had found your child and brought them to safety.  She was preoccupied with video games too.  The policy in the mall that I worked at was if you loose a child there, you get a warning, if you do it again, you are no longer welcomed back.

she was mad at you?? I would have kissed your feet, lol. It is one of my biggest fears to lose my son or have him get kidnapped....ugh it makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it.
