None of the facts they discovered about those two surprise me.  I know some people that owe Marilyn Manson so apologies.

I don't mean to sound harsh or rude but I would really like to see a book written about the parents of school shooters.  Where is their responsibility in all this.  Are they even held accountable at all? Did they not know that their own children were about to snap?  These are the questions that I would like to know the answers to and not just to put them out there but for other young first time parents to know what to look out for or maybe even what to do differently from those parents.

Maybe now people can stop pointing fingers at the school administration. I just read a magazine article where the school principal said he has been sued by several familiies saying he didn't do what he could to protect the students. Those boys were on a mission. Even if they had been suspended a few times or there were metal detectors they would have still done what they did.

I don't think the blame should be put on the parents. How were they supposed to know their kids were going to snap?  It's not always that easy to know what your kid is thinking...especially when they hide it very well.

I am not saying that the parents should be "blamed" but these are THEIR children and saying that "even the teachers didn't know" is still no excuse for parents not to be held accountable (to some extent) for their own children.  It is not okay for parents not to know their kids.  I know that everyone is not going to agree with me on this but it is just my opinion.

You can't always blame the parents,The boy harris was a phsycopath, they are very disceptive. The parents didn't do anything to cause these boys to do what they did. I think sometimes society feels they have to have someone to blame and that's why the rumors of the reason they "snapped" was because of music, video games, parents didn't hug them enough, etc. There are things that happen because those individuals made choices and IMO they are the ones responsible for their own actions.
