So I have not figured out exactly how to navigate this site so i'm hoping if someone is bored enough to reply to me its to my email  babytmama20@hotmail.com. I need advice bare with me i'll try and keep this short. I recently moved states away from my daughter (to go to school to get us a better life) thats hard enough in itself, on top of that my boyfriend is deployed in iraq and i don't know how to cope with these lonely nights. I'm normally a social person but have no interest in getting out with "friends", that is if i had made any. I'm hoping someone somewhere has been in my shoes and has advice on good ways to deal with this emptiness.

Find a hobby. You need something to fill your time other than studying. I paint alot. I suck at it, but it keeps me busy. I'm also trying to figure out how to use this nice sewing machine DH gave to me for Christmas. I have lots of ideas, just no way to execute .. or it never turns out like I had envisioned, lol. Nonetheless, when he's gone and DD is sleeping I have something to keep me busy.

During DH's first deployment and we had no children, I got a dog. That helped ALOT!

Hope this helps!!!

BTW, what are you going to school for?

What branch is he in?  There are groups on here specifically for certain branches of the military, as well as for the military in general.  Also, search for groups for around your area to try and make friends.  Make sure to get out a lot.  Find some hobbies.  You said that your daughter is not with you, right?  Then go to museums or other things that you wouldn't do normally if you had her with you.  Get a journal and right about what you're feeling so that when your boyfriend gets back, you can give it to him.  I just try really hard to stay busy.  I try and plan at least one thing for everyday, even if it's just going out for a walk.  Good luck and if you ever need to talk, you can message me.

http://www.cafemom.com/group/101400 That's an awesome group of ladies from all branches.

Who is your daughter with? Maybe you can  start doing nightly video chats with your daughter. I agree with the other ladies about finding a hobby. That helps me to get through the deployments. Are there any marriage plans in the near future?
