Today I was eating at a restaurant with my mom and daughter and the waitress asked me if my daughter was mine. I said yes. When she came around the next time she said, "Well she looks like daddy I can tell. She has nothing of you at all." WTF? Am I being too senstive if I admit it pissed me off? I bet she thought I was like an aunt or the nanny! My husband is Hispanic and I'm white so yes, my daughter carries his darker features, but if you look at my baby pics we look a lot a like and even still she has my smile now. I mean maybe I'm annoyed because I gave painful birth to her and am with her almost every minute of the day nourishing and loving her, so yes dammit maybe I'd like a little acknowledgement that I'm her mother! Has anyone else had an experience like this?
At first glance you wouldn't think DD is mine. I have very dark curly hair & brown eyes, olive skin tone - classic Italian features. DD has blonde straight hair, bright blue eyes and fair skin. If someone took the time to look though we have the same face. She's even seen pictues of me at around her age and she SWEARS it's her, lol. (She's 3)
I'm dying to see what DD #2 will look like. Who'da thought every dominant feature I have would get passed over!

So my husband, my daughter, and I go up to his work (doesn't work there anymore) & we didn't all walk in together. I go to the bathroom. I come out, some female is holding my daughter. I walked up to her (my husband wasn't around) and this bitch had the nerve to say "Um, who are you?" Are you kidding me, I'm her mother. It REALLY pissed me off... so yeah, I know what you mean.
And even still, I don't know why my husband would be letting some female hold OUR daughter if she doesn't know who I am. I did birth her yah kno..
I totally know where you are coming from on that! I have dark features and my son has blond hair and blue eyes. When we would go into the city to go to the museums and stuff we would take public transportation and no one would ever come out and say anything they would give us the strangest looks when he called me Mom! LOL! We just moved to Florida and my BFF here is blond and blue eyes so when the 3 of us go anywhere people will direct questions or comments about my son towards her instead of me. So I completely know where you are coming from. I am sure my mom went through the same thing, she is fair with reddish hair and blue eyes.

I had a stupid bitch tell me that in public when I was with ds and dh. Honestly I felt she just did it purposely cuz she was flirtin with dh. I mean ds looks like dh, BUT he really looks like me a lot! Let me see if I can show a pic ... wish I had my other baby pics, but here is one of me as a toddler then I will show u ds.
