my 6 y/o usually brought his lunch from home, but there were also days that he would eat a school lunch.   i would say he probably averaged 7 school lunches per month.

and we have to pay full price which is $1.60......i think the milk alone is $0.40.

OH, and that reminds me!  although he usually brought a lunch from home, he almost always got a milk from the cafeteria to go with it.

My son will also be starting Kinder in the fall.  We don't qualify for reduced lunches, but we'll be packing lunches mostly and he'll always buy a drink.  He'll eat hot lunches too, when he wants.

I have no idea how much lunch is or drinks - guess I'll find that out once he starts.  lol

My daughter take lunch everyday of the week to school, except for some Fridays, she likes eating the pizza. I have to go out every sunday and buy her luches for the week. I gets tiring but at least I know she is eating lunch because its from home.

DD always eaten school lunch. Idk about elem school  but HS lunch about 45 a month fill price w/ milk.

You will be sent TONS of forms to fill out on the first day, one of them is a school meal form everyone living in house & their income. That will determine if you get free or reduced lunch. If on FS you(kid) automaticly get free breakfast & lunch.

I pay for my daughter lunch and breakfast.  It is about 35- 40 dollar a month.  I wish we can qualify for free lunch.

Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a meal ticket for the whole month.  Ds picks what days he wants to eat lunch at school and what days I pack him one. He also gets breakfast too. I think eating lunch at school gets my ds to try things he wouldn't eat at home. Today he is trying bbq pork sandwhiches.  It is 2.00 here. They get like 4 things though...entree, potatoe, veggie and dessert like fruit sometimes a cookie.
