I need new ideas!!  What are your family's favorites?  I'm looking for both "nice" dinners and cheap, easy ideas too.  My husband won't eat any seafood or mushrooms (unfortunately)  Thanks ladies!

You've never had sloppy joes??  Do you live under a rock?  LOL

We love stuffed green peppers.  I cut them in half, lay them on top of spanish rice, stuff with beef and cheese.  Then bake.

lol you aren't the first one to ask that:)  my mom never used alot of beef when I was a kid, so I never did either... much to my husband's dismay, so I'm sure he will love it:)    The peppers sound great!

One of our favorites is Mexican "slop"!!! Its browned hamburger meat, salsa, beans(sometimes re-fried and sometimes black), cheese, and pre cooked rice. I put all of it in the crock pot, and we either eat it with tortilla chips or soft taco shells. We usually top with tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream.

This is our favorite.

Pepper Steak and Stuff

Prep time - 20 minutes, marinade for at least one hour.

Cook time - 1 hour 10 minutes

1 lb. top brown steak, cut into 1 inch. pieces

1 c. beef bouillon

1/4 c. soy sauce

1/2 t. ground ginger

1/2 t. garlic powder

2 T. vegetable oil

2 green peppers cut into strips

3 T. cornstarch

1 c. water

Mix bouillon,  ginger, and garlic powder.

Marinate meat in liquid.

Drain liquid, save marinade.

Heat oil in skillet.

Cook meat until lightly brown.

Add marinade and water.

Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 45 minutes.

Add green peppers, cook for 15 minutes.

Add cornstarch and water to taste.

Our family favorite is a breakfast dish.  Caramel apple french toast.

4 apples sliced or diced.     1/4 cup butter,   1/2 cup brown sugar.     dash of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Peel and cut apples to your desired size then toss with cinnamon and vanilla.  Melt the butter in a medium sauce pan then add the brown sugar.   Cook on medium/low heat for about two minutes.  It will look kind of weird at this point.  Add the apple mixture and cook for a few minutes.  It will make it's own sauce.  Serve over fresh french toast.
