This is just a stereotype that I hear quite often. Just want to see if anyone on Cafemom feels the same.  Please vote and bump

*  And for the record because of some random posts I saw.  This post is not about who does more and who does less.  We are all Mother's and we all do the best we can.  Everyone's situation is different.  Whether you are married, single or any other marital status we all do a terrific job and you all rock!

PS:  I changed the title of the thread as some people took offense to it.  The thread was previously titled "Are single mothers trash?".

  • Nope.  My mom was one and I can't imagine a better mother.  I notice no response from the 12% that said yes.  I'd just love to hear from one of them!

  • Well Ive had that kind of impression from my neighborhood and Im not proud.  I am a single a mother.  But I seem to get told that Im less than worthy because I raise my kids but still work at the same time.  Im not totally butt hurt.  BUT I am sensitive in the way that I hope that people could understand my or our circumstances.

    dumb question.

it has nothing to do with whether a woman is single or not. it has to do with whether she is trash when it comes to being a mother or not.

By the way, no single mom's are NOT trash!

Who I am as a mom can not be expressed in a paragraph. It is expressed by who my children will become.

  • Ok ladies.  For the 13% you just said that single mothers are trash... why is that so?  Why are single mothers less than you?  And this is not an attack.  Its a general question and please ladies dont jump on the opposition until we hear it. At least.

  • to those who voted yes, what about when you meet a single mother at the park or somewhere and assume she is trash because she hasnt got her ''baby daddy'' right there with her.. then she goes home with her children to an empty house with photos on the wall of her kids & husband who was KIA..

    people make me sick.
everyones situation is different. especially every single mother's. they deserve all the respect in the world..

except skeezes like octomom. shes single right lol??
