My family and I went to my brother home for an open house party.  So one of my kids, age 15, had a headache. This new mom of one 4-month old child, is going to question me about, "what am I doing about my child's headache" and since it is kind of chilly out she would never let her child leave home without a lite jacket. I told her to shut up, if he wanted a lite jacket he should of put one on, as far as his head hurting he should of thought about it before putting on those loud ass ear phones.

What gives new parents the in site on so many things? This is your first child, yeah maybe you baby sat, so did I, but that does not give you the right to tell people how to raise their children. I have 10 yes ten fucking kids, you have only one, if anything I should be giving you advice, but since we raise our children they way we see fit, I will not.

Just wanted to vent.

Wife to Kadum & Proud momma of (17 yr. old twins: Skylar & Kalib), (15 yr. old triplets, Joshua , Matthew & Apua), (12 yr old twins: Atta & Nadia) and (9 yr. old triplets: Anaya, Sia and Adora)

  • Yeah, we'll see how well she handles teenagers that have a mind of their own when hers becomes ones.  She will find out it is like talking to a wall.  Some people!

All I got outta of this post is a question....how the heck did you end up with (17 yr. old twins: Skylar & Kalib), (15 yr. old triplets, Joshua , Matthew & Apua), (12 yr old twins: Atta & Nadia) and (9 yr. old triplets: Anaya, Sia and Adora)??

2 sets of twins and two sets of triplets. Thats crazy!!!

I bet it was with fertility drugs.

  • When someone offers unwanted or unsolicited advice, I try to be considerate of their opinion and polite- (someday I may WANT their advice, lol) and if I don't feel that it's valid or appropriate, I ignore it and move on- life as you should know having ten kids, is about learning to differentiate between what is really significant and what isn't. I know what you mean about it being annoying though, and if a vent in here helps you to rid yourself of the minor aggravation, then it's all to the good, right?

Bless you for having ten kids, you brave, crazy woman you!! loll.....

lol a friend of mine got twins on the first shot, she says she won't be having anymore due to the fact the doctor told her the chances of having two or more again if she gets pregnant is beyond 50% lol. She says forget all that mess......

  • I agree with you. For me, its not so much the new moms but when a mom with a baby decides she knows better than me how to handle my 4, 9, or 10 yr old. Baby's are way different & you may think you know 100% everything your little one needs but you've never had a 10 year old, so stop trying to pretend like you know what the hells going on with my older kids.

  • I am sure the mom was not trying to insult you. She just had a bad way of trying to talk with you.

that isn't a fair presumption, those prone to having multiples naturally often continue to do so- my great grandmother had two sets of twins and a set of triplets as well, long before they were in the habit of using ferttility drugs, some are just predisposed to the possiblity.

  • Having more kids doesn't make you know more, and it doesn't automatically make you a great parent.

    Quoting abbynzachsmommy:

No, it doesnt mean she knows everything, but you can bet she knows and he** of a lot more than a mom of ONE 4 month old.

    Quoting tmfoote:

Just because you have ten kids doesn't mean you know everything, and her having one doesn't mean she knows nothing. Did you ever stop to think maybe she was just trying to help or be nice and offer advice. Don't be so judgemental.

LOL...thats funny. She sure had some balls. I have a friend like that though. I'm pregnant with my THIRD, she has NO kids..at all. She hasnt even been in a serious relationship since I have been married.  Still she feels the need to give ME advice on parenting and pregnancy. I dont  care that she's a "trained Douala"... I have actually pushed the kids out...not just held someones hand while THEY did it.  Now, when she begins her sermons on child rearing and pregnancy I ask her how many kids she's had and it usually shuts her up.

Its amazing how people think that they get a TEENNNYYY bit of experience in one area and all of a sudden they know all there is to know.

Agreed.  And honestly - a 15 yr old can decide his own darn wardrobe!  Even a five year old would throw off his jacket as soon as he starts playing!  Just remind him, when he finally has kids of his own, to dress the baby in layers and pay attention to his/her temp.  But yeah - he can freeze if he wants to.  I know I did often enough!
