My baby is still sleeping in my room.  I had started getting her use to hers when we ended up having a scorpion problem.  But once I know that's dealt with I want to start getting her comfy in her own room.  Both the of the kids rooms are upstairs and mine down stairs.

How old was your baby when you let them sleep the whole night in their room?  I'm also super nervous about SIDS, the main reason (other than scorpions) that she sleeps in my room.

EDIT:

For those of you that wonder what I'm talking about as far as the scorpions:  Heres one:

  • between 2 and 3 months.  I had a monitor that alarmed if they stopped breathing.  best thing to have.

  • I was scared of SIDS and was told the rate of fatalities was greatly decreased after 6 months but my baby so big, and healthy they said I shouldnt have a problem so I started it at about 4 1/2 or 5 months and it worked great.

  • both were in a bassinette and in their own room when we got home. But for both of them, I was always up feeding them so they slept on my chest on a couch for a while,  Except my son started sleeping through the night at 2 weeks old.  My daughter was always hungry.

  • We  moved our son out at 7 mths.  But, we aren't ready to move out the baby. Its so final when you move them into their own rooms.  i think she will sleep in our room for a few more months.

  • I moved my boys from the bassinet in our room to the crib at  4 months.  I will so the same with my little girl.  I understand your fears about SIDS, something you should read up on is called "mattress wrapping"..you can google it and get a ton of info.  We did it/are doing it.  We got the stuff to do it at Home Depot for $12.

  • Well, Kendal would be in her own room now (she's 9 1/2 months old) but we are stationed here for only 6 months so we just got a one bedroom apartment, but as soon as we move in October we will have a bigger place and she will definitely have her own room. She will be about 13 months.
