My baby is still sleeping in my room. I had started getting her use to hers when we ended up having a scorpion problem. But once I know that's dealt with I want to start getting her comfy in her own room. Both the of the kids rooms are upstairs and mine down stairs.
How old was your baby when you let them sleep the whole night in their room? I'm also super nervous about SIDS, the main reason (other than scorpions) that she sleeps in my room.
EDIT:
For those of you that wonder what I'm talking about as far as the scorpions: Heres one:

My daughter was 2 weeks old.

I am a non-ERF, can't wait to drop the booster, breast-fed til 6 weeks, Nestle formula using, pro-choice, Independent, open-minded, gay marriage supporting, CIO, NON-AP, former Marine mom to the only perfect child on Earth. Don't tell me how to raise my kid, and I won't tell you what's wrong with yours!
I couldn't wait for my son to sleep in his own crib! I just can't sleep knowing he is so close by for some reason...every sound he made would wake me up. lol I started putting him in his own room at 4 months but was still breastfeeding so I would get him in the middle of the night and he would sleep about an hr in our bed while I nursed him. Then by 6 months I cut out his feedings at night and he has been in his own room and own bed since. He sleeps better in his own room anyways!

As soon as we moved into this apartment with two bedrooms. He was about 4 months old.

dd was in our room in her bassinet until around 6 months. probably a little before, by 6 months she was rollin over easily and sittin up on her own i didn't feel very comfortable with her in a bassinet so she was moved to her room in a crib

both my boys started out in my room in a bassinet right next to my side of the bed. when they turned 8wks old they went to their own rooms in their own crib. we picked that age mainly b/c thats when they started to sleep through the night a little better. i just used a monitor over night and it was fine. as far as SIDS, dont put anyhting in the crib with your baby, just a light blanket,no toys or stuffed animals or bumpers. check on him often if it makes you feel better and never put down on stomache to sleep at night. i think if naps are on stomache while you keep an eye on him it should be fine but not for long periods of time when your not awake.
My first child was about 7-8 months and my 2nd one was about 4 months. In my opinion the sooner you do it the better.
Well, it seems most do around or before six months. Like I said, I had started to put her in her own room, but then we had scorpion issues, and we have Bark Scorpions. I think their the most dangerous in the country. But now we have a bug guy that deals with them, so, maybe if I don't see them for another week or two I'll start to move her back to her room. She is sleeping in her crib, I just moved it downstairs!!! Thank you

I'll check this out, thank you
Quoting CarlaD:I moved my boys from the bassinet in our room to the crib at 4 months. I will so the same with my little girl. I understand your fears about SIDS, something you should read up on is called "mattress wrapping"..you can google it and get a ton of info. We did it/are doing it. We got the stuff to do it at Home Depot for $12.

When Blake came home from the hospital, he slept in his basinette next to my bed.. and when he was 3 months, we moved him into his crib in his own bedroom. He was fine. Never had a problem. He is now almost 6 and he occasionally sneaks into our bed in the middle of the night.

he was like 2 months old. if that, we semi-co slept, sometimes we would sleep on the couch together, but he almost always slept in his room.
