  • nope I never have to ask for anything. Just because he leaves the house to work doesn't mean squat. It was funny cause after our 3rd baby, which was another c-section, he took 2 weeks off to help me out around the house & with our two girls....he told me he could not WAIT to get back to work lol. So he knows what I do on a daily basis 24/7 and tells me no money in the world could cover the wages I should be paid.

    Quoting meandmybean:

I think there should be an option for "we jointly decide how to use/ spend money".

Neither of us purchase anything without the others consent. That way we both no where money is being spent.

I didn't put up that option b/c to me, that's not asking. Hubby & I make decisions together too. I guess what I was talking about is some women make comments about asking their husband permission to spend money. To me if your discussing it together, than you & your hubby consider it "community" money, not just his.

  • I voted yes only because I let him know that I'm taking his debit card.

  • No, I have access to all accounts...but I will give him a heads up or ask him if I want to make a large purchase, or go on a shopping spree. I think it's courteous.

  • I don't ask him for money. We try to jointly decide on big purchases, but my husband is gone most of the time, so it is up to me to buy things. That said, I also own a custom print design business and that money is "our" money in the sense that it goes to pay for things for the kids so he can possibly take a little more time off.

  • Funny thing... he makes tips. My unemployment check is direct deposit. So if I want cash I have to go the ATM or hit him up. He usually finds out that I'm walking around with $2 and just puts money in my wallet. So I don't have to ask for it.
