At what age did your DS/DD learn to bathe/shower themselves????
Who taught them???
How did you teach them??
Thank you for all your help!!!!!!
At what age did your DS/DD learn to bathe/shower themselves???? around 4ish
Who taught them???both parents,
How did you teach them?? it was just something that was enforced from infancy, you made it into a game and as they got older you would show them the way to do it, then have them do the same thing, throw in splashes and laughs and it was done.
My daughter has been doing her own shower since she was 5 (she's six now). I always talked to her while I was bathing her, and she picked it up from there.
I do help her wash her hair sometimes.

I am a non-ERF, can't wait to drop the booster, breast-fed til 6 weeks, Nestle formula using, pro-choice, Independent, open-minded, gay marriage supporting, CIO, NON-AP, former Marine mom to the only perfect child on Earth. Don't tell me how to raise my kid, and I won't tell you what's wrong with yours!

Who taught them??? Myself
How did you teach them??He kinda just caught on from when I bathed him. The only thing I had to "teach" him which shampoo to put in his hair and which was the soap.
We also left the door open for the first year or so and my husband or I would start the water for him to be sure the temperature was correct.
My kids were about 6 when they started showering on thier own...we both showed them how ..and I always checked to make sure thier hair was clean and soap free when they were done.
I think they were both 4-5ish...
I don't remember making it a point to teach either of them, just something they picked up a little at a time. I did sit in the bathroom for a time while they were washing, then of course check their hair to make sure it was rinsed completely. lol

I have 1 DS and 2 DDs, and a grandson. My hubby and I have had custody of grandson since he was 15 months old. I started with all of them about the age of 2. I would wash them, then give them the rag and say "Now, wash yourself like I did it." The hair they started washing by themselves at 3 years of age the same way. By the time they were 2 1/2 yo, they were washing themselves with me watching. By 3 1/2, they were totally washing their own hair with me watching. I helped during the last 3 of those 6 months by telling them how to do it only if they forgot.

All i can say is WOW!!! By 3 1/2.... I feel sheepish.. I still bathe my DS (who is 7) and DD (who is 2.5)
And That's why I need HELP!!
Good job Though!!!
We started slowly we went to showers around 5 with me sitting on the toilet talking to her and then helping with hair (MOM....no shampoo in my eyes... I can still hear her saying that! lol) My husband and I both taught the, usually calling out cues... don't forget under the arms, don't forget the feet, stuff like that. After about 3 months or so, they were on their own....except for my daughter and that shampoo. She just could not get the hang of it.... OH... speaking of shampoo, be prepared... Buy cheap, during those first few weeks of showering alone... seems like they went through a bottle a week! (A little exageration but not much.)
