my walmart story.

I am not one to usually talk crap about a store but today was a day from hell thanks to that place.

My cousin's little boy has asthma, she has been using the samples given to her by the pulmonologist but she was beginning to run low, and i told her she better get them filled. I took her to Walmart since that is where she needed to go anyway. (her car was not running right). We went back to the pharmacy and the tech or whoever does the in processing of the scripts, Tells us it will be about 2 hours. That was OK, we had a little shopping to do. We shopped a little, came back and was told they werent' filled yet but were being filled so to give them a little longer. We went to Subway to eat and return back to the pharmacy. The tech then tells us they filled the rynatan but could not fill the advair because it was out of stock and they would not get any until Tuesday. That was way too late and i told my cousin that she had to get that script back. The tech said he  coudlnt' give us our script back but he could call it in to another location. I told my cousin to  tell them to just call it in to the walmart two counties over, that it was OK. (that is the only other walmart near here)  There is this really awesome shopping center there that i have been meaning to check out so this would give me the chance to do it. The pharmacist calls that walmart while we wait, and then tells my cousin its in stock there and they are going to fill it and it should be ready by the time we get there.

So 2 hours later we get there only to find out they don't have the advair either. At this point i am like "Somebody here told the other walmart they had it". She said they had it but they were working on a prescription at the same time theoriginal walmart called and took the last of it to fill that scrip. I was like Whatever.  I told my cousin to have them cancel the order and we will just go back and pick up the script and go elsewhere.

We go back to get the original script and we're told that the othe  walmart had forwarded it on to another walmart. This time i had enough and i said just cancel it and give her back her script. The guy was being really argumentative and said we can't give you back the script but we can hold it and fill it when we get the advair in.

I said no. he needs the medicine now. Give us our script.

Finally after arguing with this asshole for what seemed like 15 minutes we got the script back. I had to pay for his medicine at CVS because for some reason her insurance wouldn't pay for it, i guess walmart did something i'm not sure. She has to call her insurance on Monday. But i paid almost 300 for his advair and if it turns out it was a walmart error that caused me to pay it i'm going to be even more livid.

ugghhhhh  ty for reminding me why i dont use walmart for Rx's  .. We go to walgreens since they accept our insurance for any meds we need.  I am sorry you got messed around with.

That really does blow. I would've definitely spoken to a manager. And I don't see why they couldn't get your RX back to you, that's absolute BS. I stopped taking my drug business to wal mart after it took them 2 hours to fill a prescription for a tube of topical gel, and they were completely NOT busy.

That sucks, but HOW is Wal*Mart going to cause you to pay more? LOL They are not in charge of whose medication is covered and whose is not! LOL There is nothing they can do to make you pay for it.

Well if walmart already put the perscription through the insurance it will show 2 being picked up at the same day.  Insurance is only going to cover 1 of the same medicane at the same time.

cvs said it was denied because it was just filed and filled 7/3. She has to call her insurance company to have them fix it, so they can reimburse her (me) for it.

if i remember correctly (its been a couple yrs since i worked in the pharmacy) but the insurance will reject the walmart transaction and then you should be able to take the reciept back to CVS and get your refund. Make sure she stays currnet with the insurance company. CVS will also need to notify them as well as walmart.

Walmart probaly refused to give you the script back since they all ready ran the insurance on it. (Which they shouldn't do without checking to see if the meds are in stock. (to make sure that this doesn't happen to people)..

BTW  I worked at WalGreens.....

im sorry but for that walmart fuck up if it were me i would be having her call her insurance and get the refund from them then i would be going to walmart and telling them to give me a refund for it as well how much gas did u use they owe u something imo i agree with another pp they should have checked to makesure they had that script in stock before running it to insurance that has got to be some type of fraud somewhere somehow
