we found out today that my 15 month old has pneumonia. The doctor gave her an antibotic injection and said that she should be fine by tomorrow, she said if she her fever got over 102 to take her to the ER, and for the life of me i can't remmeber how long she said to wait before the fever should go down. She just woke up and had a fever of 103. Anyone ever have a baby with pneumoni? How long should i wait before taking her in?

ok so i got her back up took her temp 102, and gave her some juice, then she fell back to sleep in my arms. I think she may have just been super thirsty, thanks ladies for your help

Well if it were me I would wait at least 24 hrs because they gave the baby antibiotics and normally once they do that they want you to wait 24 hrs to make sure you give the antibiotics the chance to kick in so you don't jump the gun and go too soon to tell then you've just wasted a trip for them to say that they cant do anything I know how frustrating that is especially when your nervous enough just by having a sick child. But if you have any doubts you can always call your reg dr or the er station and ask them how long you should wait. Hope this info helps and I hope the little one feels better soon its no fun being sick being little or an adult!
i'm also gunna keep an eye on her through the night, if it gets back up i'll take her in...

I had a Dr tell me not to be concerned until a child's temp was 104 to 105 I thought that is supposed to be high?! she said 105 could be bacterial infection set in and 108 is where it gets really dangerous for a child to me all of that makes no sense!
she told me she would still have a fever but to take her in if it's over 102, but i think she told me to wait 24 hours, i can't remmeber though!

I agree with that I keep a close eye on my children even if they just seem to have the sniffles because you never know. But I always panic when my children run a fever or the temp is over 101.You know I don't understand why they don't send home a more detailed paper home because Dr's should know parents are flustered when their children are sick especially with pneumonia!
yeah but it still makes you panic doesnt it? when its over 101?Either way I hope your little one feels better and you have a long night ahead of you so I would rest when you can if you can.
