Do you let you kids eat while watching TV?  Sometimes I treat my son to watch his cartoons in the morning  while he eats his breakfast but most time we eat at the dinning table. Do you?

  • Our children aren't allowed to watch much TV, but if they are watching a movie or something, they sometimes have a snack, but NOT a full course meal. We eat meals at the dinner table, as a family.

  • I do this too unless lunch is messy(speg.) or I have made breakfast(eggs toast bacon kind of thing).

Breakfast and lunch, but, not dinner(well sometimes we will watch comething together, but, that's usually when we have pizza or something)

  • We have a rule in our house that you only eat at the dinning room table or at the kitchen bar. I have found that if I let my son watch TV while he eats, I will have to keep prodding him to finish his food and it is more stress for me.  "In my family, it is harder to get my husband to shut off the TV and come to the table and to set a good example for my son."

  • We have no strict rules when it comes to eating. You can eat when and where you want. If you want to eat while watching tv that is fine. That may change when he is older, but I doubt it. Food is supposed to be enjoyed and I will not force my child to eat when I eat. That makes it seem like a punishment. I also never make him stay sitting down until he finishes everything. He will eat when he is hungry. I have to have talks with my MIL about that all the time. She tries to force feed him! LOL

I hope none of that sounds rude. I am just stating my opinion! LOL

  • On Thursday we put a huge blanket on the living room floor, ate Subway with chips and watched a movie. It was our very own picnic and the kids absolutely loved it.

  • Once a week on Friday night ~ for movie night. We have our veggi burgers and fries with rootbeer floats ~ Otherwise it's the dining room table for all meals or the picnic table for lunch/bar-b-que.

  • she gets to eat breakfast while watching cartoons.  she takes about an hour to eat breakfast and is not a good morning person.  she has a little tray that goes on her lap and it has a cup holder so her drink won't fall over.  all other meals we eat at the table, including snacks.  a couple of times, we have done a picnic in the living room, and i put down a plastic table cloth and we eat on the floor.  she loves that
