Anyone have this and got the results it says it can do? I see the home video on the informercial but Im still skeptical. Just want to know itf its worth $200.
don't waste your money.
if you really want to teach a child to read and understand language.. use the close captioning available on your t.v. set... for free!
keep the volume on... just turn on the words too. this way....the children see the word, and hear it at the same time. this helps it "stick" and they learn...without even knowing that they are learning to read.
we use this technique as a last resort for special needs children {adhd, autism}
it works...and it doesn't cost you anymore than it would to power that t.v.

i have it for dd...but im not really using it like you are supposed to...the caption on our tv sucks and most of the letters show up as blocks, so that didnt work for us, lol...i plan to start really using it next week

my cousin got it for her baby on her first bday. she's 16 months now and recognizes the words and sings the songs. i think it works, but you could set up the same kind of program at home. you watch the videos two times a day (like 20 mins each) and do flashcards. she's gone through two stages of it already.
I personally think it's a dumb idea. I mean seriously if you teach your little one to read this early, what will they learn in school? They will get bored!

dd doesn't sit still long enough to watch it...the video is very boring...dd will listen to it, but not look at the words

My boys love it. They actually just saw the commercial for it and asked for baby. Which is what they call it. So they are sitting here watching it now. Even if it doesn't really work (i'm not saying it does or doesn't) my boys have certainly expanded their vocabulary. Out of nowhere Mason said "Daddy work, daddy work-ing" It was so cute! It really did teach him to put -ing on the end of words and he has been doing it alot lately. It also was great for when we went to the zoo. They named alot of animals. Also they don't stutter with their words. They are extremely clear. But I don't know how much of this is from the video or just from me teaching them.
what im going to use for my son (and what my parents used with my brother and sister) is the leap frog set. (Not the games LOL) but they have some awesome DVDs out there. my personal fave is the letters factory. it teaches you what the letters look like, and their sounds. works wonders. its a lot of repitition, but its musical and colorful and fun for them. and they have other dvds after that for putting words together etc.
Im a 20 year old mommy to the handsomest baby to me, run-to-my-infant-even-if-he's-crying-for-no-reason, always feeding my boobie monster, co-sleeping because when he's in a crib i miss him, freaky spank-me/pull my hair kinda sex with my hubby kinda girl.
