At about 8 weeks, the uterus feels like the size of an orange.
At about 12 weeks, it is up to the symphysis pubis (pubic bone).
At about 16 weeks, it is between the symphysis pubis and the umbilicus.
At around 20 weeks, it is level with your navel and cantaloupe-sized.
Thats what my book says :)

You're usually supposed to measure in cm the amount of weeks you are.
With DD, I measured larger. At her last ultrasound they told me her estimated birth weight would probably be over 10lbs. She was 8lbs 3oz.

Ultrasounds in the last 8 weeks of pregnancy are infamous for being up to 2 full pounds wrong.

Well, this one was about 3 weeks before I delivered. DD had a two vessel cord so they were keeping an eye on her. I wasn't really that concerned with the weight, just a little shocked, lol. Especially cause everyone's main cocern with the cord was that she'd have a low birth weight. Low and behold, they tell me she's going to be ginormous!

My
SIL was told that my neice was going to be over 10 lbs so when she went into labor they decided to do a C-section instead of waiting to have to do an Emergency C-section "bc she wouldn't fit." Well they did it and lo and behold Miss Payton Michelle was 7 lbs 11 oz. I tried to tell my SIL that they thought Aiden was going to be 11+ lbs and he came out 8lbs 3.6oz. But I personally think she was afraid to push her out so that is why she jumped at the chance for a C-section.

Wow it sucks that she had a c-section when she didn't really need it but it's hard to know until you have the baby... I do know that if the baby gets stuck they have to break their color bone or something to get them through. That would be soooo scary! I would have gone with the c-section too!
I was told my son might be 10+ pounds and he could get stuck coming out but when they did the u/s they measured his weight at 8 pounds 3 ounces and he was 8 pounds 6 ounces. Pretty damn close but most of them are usually off by 2 or 3 pounds.

It really depends on the delivery. If the baby gets stuck (aka has shoulder dystocia) there are many ways that a midwife or doctor can deliver them without having to break any of the babies bones. There is also the option of a cesarean with a stuck baby, or a baby that will not descend down into the pelvis.
