I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had an ectopic in my tube and needed surgery at 8wks. My tube burst and most of it is removed. It's not functional anymore.

Usually with ectopic pregnancy, the risk factors are having some kind of infection in your uterus, endometriosis, previous abdominal surgery, damaged tubes.....there's more I can't think of.

In a lot of cases though there's no reason, it just happens. I had no risk factors at all when I had mine.

Sending you lots of ((HUGS)) you can PM me if you need to talk.

Ectopic just means that it's "out of place" they can end up on an ovary, tube, cervix or in the abdomen. In the tube is most common, but it happens in those other places as well.

Did you get the Metho shot?

Even with surgery, my hcg took a while to drop. I think at least a month or so. I had a horrible OB when I had my ectopic and he didn't really give me any info, it wasn't until later that I learned more about it.

I understand how you're feeling. Even when I got a better doc a few weeks later, he was explaining everything to me and I just wanted to run away. It was my first pregnancy, we really wanted the baby. DH was already talking to my belly.....I don't think people realize how hard it is sometimes and it may take a while for you to feel normal again.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. Also, you may want to check out this site:

http://www.ectopic.org.uk/

They really helped me get through everything. They're based in England but they have lots of info, the provide online support and it's just  a really great site and there are tons of people who have been in similar situations. I had my ectopic in 2005 and I still chat online with some of the friends I've made there.
