My crock pot has a huge crack the entire length of the ceramic insert...i noticed when i was washing it that it moved a little and i have no clue what happened. it wasnt dropped or anything, and the heat settings are automatic... i have no clue why it does this but now i need to buy a new one because it goes all the way through.

  • Mine cracked too, but it was because it slipped out of my hands while I was washing it.  I just took it as a sign to go out and get a bigger and better one!  I got the Hamilton Beach Stay or Go kind that has a locking lid so you can take it with you without it spilling all over your car.  It was about $35 and well worth it.

  • That's so frustrating. I can't imagine why that would crack like that, other than putting it in cold water when still hot. Sometimes they have a defect in them and crack at a weak point, but it would have probably cracked before now. There has to be replacement inserts available.

  • Mine is completely crackled, like someone painted it with that cracking paint...I have no idea how that happened, and can't find another insert. It's frustrating. And I have never put it in cold water either. :(

  •  The same thing happened to my mother. How old is it? It might have gotten bumped at just the right angle without you realizing it and it could have caused a crack. I believe you can buy a new ceramic insert without buying a whole new crock pot.

If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.
