I was just curious how often moms here go out to a bar and drink?
I have a cousin who goes out every weekend, Friday and Saturday. Sometimes on Wednesdays when she bowls, she'll go out to the bar and get trashed.
And sometimes she and her husband will drive drunk.

My best friend and I go out once a month and have drinks. We don't get "drunk" though. Last time even after we'd had a full meal we still called her mom to come pick us up lol. I didn't drive home until like 3am and five cups of coffee. It may seem over kill but I don't care. I am not about to kill myself or someone else because I wanted a few drinks. Even people who drive buzzed are fucking douche bags. If you're willing to go out there and possibly kill or hurt yourself that is one thing, but to risk hurting someone else is unforgivable.
I very seldomly go out. I have been out to bars drinking but I think in the entire year of 2008 I went out one time. I'm not the type to get drunk and if for some reason I have more than one I will wait a few hours before driving home. If I drink more than three I will call for a ride. I think as parents you should not be drinking and driving. I am all for the DUI road blocks. It could be me and my kid that are the innocent victims of someones lack of sense.
Right now maybe once or twice a yr!!! If I go out and drink, our daughter stays all nite at my BF's parents house. And we usually go bowling cause the bowling alley has a bar in it and it has a motel right next door so we get a room for the nite and just walk back and forth so we don't get a DUI.

Yeah. I'm always telling them that it's not smart. What if a family is on the road traveling, and they killed them? They said it would never happen.

When I was in my mid to late 20's I went out practically every weekend and got STUPID drunk. Now that I have matured (and gotten smarter!) I realize that it was stupid and it was something that I didn't need to do. If I had kept up at the pace I was going, I would have lost my marriage and probably my kids, because he threatened to leave me if I didn't stop. I decided that it was not worth it so I settled down and I am much happier with myself and the choices I make. I haven't had a drink in 6 years. I plan to keep it that way.
