For those of you who had unintentional or "accidental" pregnancies what were the circumstances (if you don't mind sharing)?
Condom Break? Pull out method failed? He didn't pull out in time? Didn't take birth control as prescribed?
I hear/see so many people saying they got pregnant unintentionally or accidentally and it just amazes me how often it happens while some people try and try to get pregnant and dont'/can't.
ETA- for those of you saying the withdrawal method failed can you be more specific? Did he pull out in time but you still got pregnant or did he just not pull out in time.
The reason I ask it that I've always used withdrawl method and just not had sex on days around ovulation. But somehow this week I miscounted or something. Thought I wasn't ovulating til this Monday or Tuesday but according to my chart I most likely ovulated the middle of this past week...
I'm not sure about him, but I was beyond trashed. Very intoxicated. I don't recall using protection. I really don't drink anymore. I only have one child and I'm 27.

God Help Us.
I don't even remember the pill I was taking, I don't take it anymore but I used the pill and a condom. Suprise surpise I had a baby.

My first pregnancy was because the person I was sleeping with told me he had a vasectomy. Turns out he was lying!
My daughter was planned.
My husband had a vasectomy (I was there, lol), so there will be no more little surprises.

I am a non-ERF, can't wait to drop the booster, breast-fed til 6 weeks, Nestle formula using, pro-choice, Independent, open-minded, gay marriage supporting, CIO, NON-AP, former Marine mom to the only perfect child on Earth. Don't tell me how to raise my kid, and I won't tell you what's wrong with yours!
Our surprise was a "patch" baby. I don't really know what went wrong, but I do know at my 1st appointmen, the nurse commented that I was the 2nd one in that week that had been on the patch. Oy! LOL
my boyfriend and I had been together for 2years and broke up (long story... i left) well I NEVER used a condom with him after the first 3months of dating... he has a low sperm count (had tried to conceive with a girl he had been with for 4 years the doctor told him it was a small chance) and we always used the pull out method... We started seeing each other about 2 months after the break up because he had fixed his problems ... well within 2weeks of us having sex again... suprise the method that had worked for over 2 years had failed and we will be having our daughter in late september...
he always pulled out before he came... so it was really a very small chance of getting pregnant considering his low sperm count... and women in my family have a history of having trouble conceiving...
and yes i feel its unfair that I didnt even try and I got pregnant yet my cousin had to go through procedures for over a year to have her daughter and cant ever have children again and my other cousin has been trying for over a year and still nothing :(
I got pregnant with my first baby while on the pill. I hadn't been on antibiotics and took the pill at the same time everyday, so, yeah, I was surprised to find out I was pregnant.
The second baby, we tried for.
The third baby we weren't using anything. We were just avoiding sex during ovulation. Obviously, that didn't work!
The IUD has been the best birth control so far. I'm not sick or moody from pills or the shot and I've remained prego free for 6 years!! WOO HOOO!
However, hubby is wanting another...as if 5 aren't enough...right?
well my first pregnancy he didnt pull out n well the second one 2 i guess the dudes i do just dont kno how 2 pull out n i just dont kno how 2 use birth control. but after dis one im runnin 2 the doc 2 get birth control n condoms!!!
Pull out method both times... and he successfully pulled out... both times!! Its funny how pre-cum can have such strong swimmers lol =D
Birth control failure.
Any FYI, withdrawl doesn't work, there's semen in pre-cum.
But keeping track of your ovulation works, but you've got to be more exact than "counting days" because you're ovulation can change. You can use your temperature, and all sorts of other indicators though :)
My gyne said they don't prescribe the patch anymore because of that, but you can still get them at our Planned Parenthoods.. I think there should be more information out there about patch failure.
