So my mom went and got allergy tested a few weeks back (the one where they stick about 60 needles in your arm and then check for reactions.) She went back for the results and found out she is severely allergic to............chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is 55 and has eaten chocolate her entire life! She was told that her symptoms (tight throat, headaches, breathing problems) are a result of her eating chocolate and she can never have it again. And once her body has been without it for a period of time the allergy will be that much worse (when she loses her tolerance for it), so they gave her an epipen in case she accidentally ingests any chocolate at all!
I told her that if I inherited that from her I will disown her (kidding obviously!)
My poor mom :(

Your poor mom!!!! I consider chocolate a food group so I can't imagine never being able to eat it again!

That stinks!!! I'm allergic to corn and corn products, peanuts, and tree nuts (not to mention a million other things), but corn syrup is in everything (especially candy), so I miss out on soooooo much it sucks. I feel for your mom.
My mom is 50 this September. And she is allergic to chocolate, lemon, pepper and egg. All of which she had eaten for the 48 years of her life. I still can't believe it...she has several others. She thinks I am allergic to mustard or vinager and let me tell you what I will suffer. lol. The only issue I have after I ate something with those ingredients is my throat gets a little tight. I am actually started to think it is ketchup or BBQ. Who knows? I am 22 and I have also suffered from headaches since my first was born. I didn't know it was the sign of an allergy. hmmm...

Oh no!! Well I am not a huge chocolate fan normally (pregnant I love all sweets, lol), but that stinks!
