I have a 3 year old little girl, and she has several bathing suits. I never thought twice about it, until someone frowned about one of them being a 2 piece...soooo I wanted to see what everyone had to say about what kind of swim suits their LOs wear....

My daughter is 2 and she has a 2 peice. its not like theyre naked and its not like they have anything to show anyways lol. I think the people that frown on it are just neive...I don't think there is anything wrong with toddlers wearing 2 peices..I wouldn't worry about it.

it really doesn't matter to me.  dd picks out her swim suit every year, and they have all been two pieces and tankinies!  which i love b/c of the having to pee factor.  makes it soo much easier to get the suit off in time!  personally, i do not care if people frown upon me or not.

My DD always has at least 2 bathing suits: a 2-piece and a one piece. My sister got her (my DD) her first bikini. It was camo with pink straps. So cute! She's 2 now, and has one 2-piece, and 3 one pieces. The 2-piece is a sport top (like a sports bra) with a little skirt, and it has Nemo on it.

My daughter can't wear 2-piece suits because she has nothing to keep them up. Once they get wet, the bottom sags off her butt.

As long as your using proper sun screen I don't see a problem with any kind of bathing suit for a toddler weather it be a bikini or a one piece.  I guess as long as it's not a G- String or thong!

I prefer the one pieces or the 2 pieces that are tankini version .   Those are the ones i wear.   I never liked being too uncovered due to sun burn issues.  I am not sure about the short sleeve bathing suits how hot they would be to wear.

My 3 yo will not have a bikini.  I think it's weird.  A one piece is okay, and possibly a tankini, I suppose.  But many of the little 2 pieces they make for toddlers seem gross to me.

i think a bikini can be totally fine, as long as its not one of the hoochie cut types. toddlers should not be wearing triangle tops. i get my girls bathing suits from gymboree so u can see their suits and know what im talking about a toddler appropriate bikini.
