Transition Lenses.. put them in the freezer for 2 hrs when you first get them....

Got my son's new glasses the other day and he has transition lenses.. and the optician told me to place them in the freezer for 2 hrs. Reason...being he said that after a while some people complain of them not darkening like the should. He explained that if you put them in the freezer( when you first get your new pair) it helps set the transition ability somehow and will make the transition ability last longer. I have never been told this .... but he the optican swear by it and recommends all his patients w/ transition lenses do it.

Gives a new meaning to a "Cool" pair of glasses.... per my son

My doctor didn't say anything to me about it and my lenses still transition just fine over a year later.
