Bassinet questions for the been there done it moms

So with my daughter I had money and space which helps alot with a baby this time around I have niether. My daughter slept in her bouncer and car seat for about the first 3 months I think lol I was so sleep deprived I honestly don't remember. We had a pack n play witth the bassinet on top she hated it the only thing we used it for was to pt the car seat in it so it would vibrate under her lol she was a very colicky baby. But here is my issue we have a two bedroom apt right now we really don't have the space or the money to get a crib so I was hoping to keep the baby in a bassinet till 6 months if possible. But I don't want to do the full size pack n play due to space so what bassinet is the deepest and longest for the baby my daughter was prretty big I am not sure this idea will work but I want to try it. So how long did you get out of your bassinet and what kind...what size was your baby when he/she was too big

It will all depend on the size of the baby.....my daughter will be six months old on the 27th and she still sleeps in our bassinett that we have.  She is small though.....under 15lbs 26in.  She is ALMOST too long for it.  Our bassinett is a family heirloom though so I cant tell you where it came from (its over 50 years old)! Look for a crib on craigslist or freecycle....you may find one cheap or free!

You can get the Arm's Reach co-sleeper, deskette version which goes until a baby is 36 lbs for 76 dollars. It attaches to the bed, takes up very little space and once it's done being used as an attached crib, it can be used as a desk. :)

I have our crib sidecarred so it takes up less space then it would if it was freestanding somewhere else in the room.

My son got big really fast and outgrew a bassinet at 3 months... it was a waste of money.  They have smaller pack n plays you could use... believe it or not they fit in very small spaces.

I'm a vaxing, circing, disposable diaper using, bf switched to ff, CIO sometimes, pushed 1hr before a c-section (and don't regret it), college attending, loving my son, can't wait to have another baby, trust your own judgement, kind of mom.

I'm not sure.

We use a basinette but we also coslept with them in our beds.

My daughter was ready for her own room/crib at 3 months.

My son grew out of the basinette at 4 months, we stretched it to 5 months, you MIGHT be able to stretch it to 6.

I had a cosleeper that attaches to your bed, not sure of the name or brand. But I never did attach it to our bed, that was optional.

when the baby starts rolling over it is time to ditch the bassinet. And well by 6 months most babies are not just rolling but starting to crawl. If your concerned about space have you considered the co sleepers that you put by your bed?

My son was in his cradle until he could roll over and push up with his hands. Then he moved to his room with the crib.

I have the second one.

I was going to put it on craigslist, I have no use for it.

OP, if you will pay for shipping, you can have it. It is very gently used.

I got one of those oval, wooden ones. I think we ordered it from Wal-Mart. We actually just put him in his crib last month and he is five months old now. I think he was about 15 or so pounds when we took him out. He wasn't entirely too big for it but it was getting close and my husband wanted him to learn to sleep in his crib so that is when we did it. My sister in law just get a smaller sized crib and it fits in her room (not a big one either) with a queen sized bed and two dressers. I think she ordered that from Wal-Mart as well but if you are interested I can ask her. Let me know...

The cosleeper is a good idea can you get them where you don't have to attach it. I don't really like co sleeping and my 2 year goes into our bed I'd hate her to have access to him

You're not really supposed to have them in a bassinet past 15 lbs.  There are also the smaller version of a pack and play that you could use.

My kids were out of a bassinet by 4/5 months.
