What a submissive wife is, and what is the opposite of that? I really am asking, just because I don't know. Not to start a debate or anything, I'm just curious as to what it entails. Thanks ladies.

No idea but I had to tell you that my daughters bday is the same as your daughters...only mine is 2 yr older.
bump!!! I will go cut and paste what I wrote again.
Here is my defninetion: but it can be differnt for all people.
For me its easy, but my dh makes it easy for me to submit. Well I guess mainly I am submissive because or my religions. My dh is the head, but IMO he treats me as an equal really. My mom was submissive, but in a abusive relationship. So I was raised watching the wrong kind of submission by fear and not love how dh and I are. I have never regreted choosing to submit to dh. He submits to me in ways as well. I also feel protected by being submissive. Being the head of the family also has lots of responsibilities, he is also first in accountablility if our family is not in order, which is a big responsiblity. Also if my dh is doing it right he doesn't cheat, abuse me, look at porn, he treats me with love and compassion so being submissive actually protects me because if dh mistreat me or the kids he will have to answer to God for his actions. This means that I dont have to nag him to do all those things, he does them to please God. I hope that is the kind of submissive you are talking about because there is another form with chains, and collars and that is not one we practice.

IMO, submissive means less than.
And all the submissive wives will say no we are equal, but he gets the last say, which means not equal, he is just a little bit more than you.
And the opposite would be equal or dominate.
Too funny. I was due the 24 day before my hubbys bday. My neice and nephew were born 2-27 (brother and sister born 4 yr apart). My dad told me I should try to have her on the 27 so that way all the grandkids would have the same birthday. lol I tried but at least its still a 2-7

"Quit your bitchin' and get the kitchen!"
lol, that's what I always think about anyways.
I think it's just letting your husband have complete control over you and letting him call all the shots, with no imput from you.
IMO submissive is doing whatever you're told, like a slave, within a relationship. If you google submissive you will find that in the dictionaries...
Oppositve of submissive:
Some opposites are: authoritarian, dictatorial, overbearingautocratic, bossy, dominating, high-and-mighty, magisterial, peremptory
Not sure why it won't let me take it out of bold, but that's copied/pasted. Dominating is what I was trying to think of, someone who takes total control.
