I don't see clepto as something different than bi-polar, skitzos and other such ailments.  Do you?  I guess just like with everything else it has to be nipped in the bud and dealt with, not that there's much to do about it anyway.

I see it more as an addiction. Just like a sex, drug or alcohol addiction.

I think thats how it starts off, and then evolves into a disease. It takes a while to get to this point, but if not caught it can become overpowering.

OP: Bi-Polar and Skitzophrenia(sp?) are personality disorders....Clepto's are not in the same category. IMO.
