I am NOT your child's personal babysitter--stop being lazy!

So there is a park a couple of blocks away from my apartment complex.  It's in sight from my window but still a long way away.

Anyways, whenever I take MY girls outside to play, it seems like all of the parents from the other apartments send theirs out, alone, because there's an adult to watch them.

I'm sorry but it pisses me off.  I am one person, and I can't watch 10 children.  These aren't ones old enough to be out alone, either--3,4,5 year olds.  I am not their mother, they are NOT my responsibility.  Their parents should be ESCORTING them outside and watching their kids THEMSELVES.

I hate it when people are just lazy like that.  Would you really be able to stop someone from kidnapping your child if you saw it from your window two blocks away?  NO!

Watch over YOUR OWN CHILDREN.  If you're too lazy to go outside with them then don't let them go at all!

I hear you! I have parents send their kids over here to eat since they know I actually COOK! The kids don't bother me, though--I like them. I just can't stand the audacity of the parents.

Next time that happens, I would go inside really quick to see what the other parents do. (like making the kids come in)

Okay, not even trying to be mean here. But, this is a simple solution, just don't watch them! Watch your own kid and don't worry about the other kids. That sounds mean but what if one of them got hurt, you don't want to be responsible for that! Or, what if you tried to help one of them and your own child got hurt while you had your back turned, not worth it!

Oh I don't watch them.  I completely ignore them.  If something happens to them, it won't be on -my- conscience--if anything serious happened, like a broken bone, I'd march that kid straight home and give their mother an earful!

Why don't you tell them that yourself? If it continues after you tell them, call the cops. That is child neglect at the very least!

You could call the police as you are leaving with your own child and report that there are 3, 4 and 5 yr old children alone in the playground.

Oh okay! That is just what I was worried about, that if something happened you'd feel bad!

In that case, I agree when all the kids come out, go back inside real quickly and see if the other kids have to go back home! If they do, go back out, do this a few times and I bet the mothers will get the hint!
