in reference to asking a pregnant woman if her child is a boy or a girl

do you ask gender of sex?

do you find in in inapropriate for some one to say gender

i saw this post earlier talking about this subject and i didnt bother to respond cuz i think its stupid.  What does it matter?  most people dont think they are being rude by saying gender.  to most people gender is just like sex and its not as big a deal as some people are making it out ot be.  this is whats wrong with our society...people dont have anything better to do than nitpick about little meaningless shit.  as a matter of fact...im gonna start asking gender just to irritate the small ones!

I just ask "do you know what you are having?"  I don't really use either word, but not because either offends me, I just think they both sound weird.

What's the deal, anyway?

Now I'm just curious as to why either word would be offensive to anyone???

yes but you get more anal people who get pissy and say yes i know what im having a baby. lol you cant please them all lol
