My dogs and cats has been scratching like crazy so u know its summer not really surprises that we have fleas right? So I did the whole flea thing and noticed these bugs coiming off of my animals but they didn't look like fleas. I looked better and they are head lice. My oldest boy who is 16 brought it home, he got it from his friends younger sister. (Yes he did have very long hair, Its shaved off now. lol) I already did the whole clean house thing  to get rid of the lice. I think the flea stuff did kill the fleas, but not sure. I am not sure how to kill head lice off of animals. Anyone knows? thanks

I am not 100% sure but I think the flea med will kill them.  That is what my friend did when the kids had it, and the dog and cat got them.

Get Advantix, which will kill fleas, lice, and ticks, and some Capstar for them to take that kills them.  Both are available at your vet.

I just dealt with the whole head lice thing and doing my research on different methods of treatment I found out animals can not get head lice.

My dog did, I am thinking maybe they went onto him but may not survive, If they don't get human blood. He was around when i was cuting my sons hair so they may have fallen on him.

This is actually good to know that means the lice he got on him would have to find hair to survive. So that means they can't lay eggs or survive if they have fallen on them. Thanks

Funny you mention this... I was chatting with another Mom from my town who has lived here forever, and she was telling me how common it is for Lice to Outbreak at the school right around the same time as the County Fair...
