My son eats ALL the time. I used to be thrilled about it, b/c at least he was eating, and I figured he'd gain some weight that way.
In a day, he'll eat:
Breakfast: 1 banana, 1 enviro-kids peanut butter cereal bar, 1 piece of bread, and 8oz of hemp milk (sometimes he'll have an apple or grapes as well)
Snack: pretzels, grapes or other fresh fruit, dry cereal, a cookie (yes, all of that)
Lunch: baked chicken nuggets, carrot and/or celery sticks (sometimes with PB to dip them), half an apple, pear or peach, 4oz of juice mixed with water
Snack: coconut yogurt or jello, 1-2oz of baked lays (I weigh them), grapes or other fresh fruit, carrot sticks, etc.
Dinner: half an adult serving of what we have, frequently baked or pan seared chicken with a potato or rice side and 2 vegetable sides and 8oz of hemp milk.
Dessert: 1-2 cookies or a scoop of coconut ice cream
In addition, he'll usually have 1-2 addition servings of hemp milk in a day.
He is ALWAYS hungry and, the worst part is that over the last month he has LOST over 1lb. Sometimes he goes to bed for the night crying for food (even if he'd just been eating ice cream or something else) and almost always goes down for his nap crying for food (even if he's just finished lunch). Does anyone else have such a hungry kiddo?
My son is 8 and he still eats like that. He is so skinny. Here is the thing, I have always been tiny. (Even when preg. I only weighed 130) I have never weighed more then 100lbs but I have always been a HOG. I remember being in the 3rd grade and we had a pizza party. I was around 8 or 9 and weighed maybe 40lbs. Everyone else went in with 2 or 3 people to purchase a pizza to share. I bought my own large pepperoni pizza and ate the WHOLE thing. I have a very high metabolism so by the time I got home from school I was dying for something to eat. Just feed him it's no big deal. He will be thankful for that high metabolism later in life.
bump ... As long as it is mostly fruit i dont think it iwll hurt him too much.

I don't think its going to hurt him. It just breaks my heart that he goes to bed so desperate for food, despite having a rock hard belly from everything he's eaten. The child simply can not eat enough to satisfy himself and I'm at a total loss. Thank goodness he sees his GI again in a couple weeks.
