Does anyone know of any support groups for bipolar disorder in Tennessee, particularly in Maryville, which is near Knoxville?

i dont know of any. i use to work for "contact lifeline" here that was for middle tennessee... basically we were there 24 hrs a days to answer phone calls and talk with anyone that needed to talk. you may want to look and see if there is a number for one in east tn. if there is and yoiu want a face to face option they "(or i know we did) had resources material to refer people to live groups.

Hi,

My name is Sheri. I'm bipolar too. I live near Memphis. I know there is a group here at Lakeside Hospital, but you're on the other side of the state. Did you check your local psych hospital?

I've been B/P since 22 which is 26 years ago. I'm a nurse and mother of 6 grown kids. I have 3 grandchildren. Living with the ups and downs isn't alwways easy. I'm on a great regime. I take Lamictal, Abilify, and Provigil- with Klonopin and Neurontin. Sounds like a lot but it really works well for me.

Making it with b/p takes a lot of tweaking of medicines and sometimes years with the right MD. I have a great and concerned MD, he even gives me his cell number when I'm going through a sick spell.

Gotta run,

see ya
