I am so glad I found ya'll on cafe mom!  I have been in Albany GA and I am moving back to Nashville on June 7th!  I'm so excited.   I've had severe depression since about age 12, but wasn't diagnosed bipolar until about 5 years ago.  I have two children who both live with their dad in another town and it is a real grief to me.  But we talk everyday and see each other as much as we can!  My kids are 14 and 17.  Time flies.  It's great to have found you all.  I'l love to hear from some of you!

Hi,
My name is Sheri.  I live in Memphis,Tn or actually about 10 miles north of there in Millington. The little m town.
I've been bipolar for about 27 years, I've been treated for about 15 years. The years before treatment were pretty poor. Up/down up/down etc....
I've got 6 kids from 18-30 years old.

I'm glad you're here.

Please visit anytime.

I take Lamictal, Neurontin, Klonopin and Abilify... They are working very well.

How are you doing? Moving is hard on those of us...

Hi Sheri!
Great to hear from you!  So you're outside of Memphis?  I'll have to look for Millington on the map.  I noticed you meds included Neurontin and Lamictal.  I thought those both did pretty much the same thing.  I've been on Abilify, but I've struggled with weight gain and I'm trying to get off of it.  Thanks for the message!  Moving is hard - I think any change is hard for us! but since it's a place I want to be, I'm excitied!

Hey  again,
Lamictal and Neurontin are both mood stabilizers neither causes weight gain, but I did lose 15 lbs when I was off the Abilify. Had a lot of changes in our life recently and had to restart the Abilify. I've already gain 3-4 lbs in as many weeks, so I think I'll try to do without as soon as he'll let me. Probably 3 months or so. It is supposed to be weight "neutral" but I always gain on it, too.
It's nice to have someone to dialogue with. What regime are you on?
Are you doing well?
See you soon
