I'm a huge fan of Ina Garten and I recently saw on her site that she has some wonderful things for children to use in the kitchen. She has lots of sales so that would be the best time to try and pick these up! They look like so much fun and might make your little ones have an even better time learning to cook! go to -stonewallkitchen.com -click on kitchen and then there is a spot that says "just for kids".
Does anyone else have any ideas or sweet suggestions to get our little ones more excited about cooking?
How adorable! You are so kind to share these with us, Jenn! I, too, as you know, adore Ina Garten! *wink*
Say, I think I, as an official Big Kid, might like these things for myself in the kitchen! *giggle*

"Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful." ~ Sophia Loren (1934 ~ present)It's great fun to get the kids together for a craft time with fabric paint & inexpensive cotton duck "chef's aprons" & let them each decorate their own apron! Places like Hobby Lobby & Apron Warehouse have good selections of plain, durable children's aprons for acceptable prices, & you can shop online.
Another fun thing to do is to make a cookery scrapbook together, allowing the children to dress up each favourite recipe with all of the fun scrapbooking notions & art supplies they like to use.
If each child makes his/her own cookery scrapbook, they'll be sure to have all of "Mom's best recipes" at hand when they establish their own households. No hunting & last-minute calls for your best recipes! *wink*

One of the things i plan on giving each of my daighters when they are older and getting married is a scrapbook with pictures and secret family recipies (we're italian so we're all about FOOD LOL)
i also think that they would like to cook more if they could mabe get there creations OUT THERE.........either by mabe making something to donate to say a retirement home on the area or to sell with lemonade and donate the proceedes to a local animal shelter or charity of choice!
