Ok, I have a few ''oddities'' as my dh calls them and they tend to drive him nuts, so I started wondering if I am the only one..if not, please share yours

Mine..well for starters, I canNOT stand for my toothbrush to touch anyone elses'.Period.Not even my husbands.LOL..or share my soap..forget using a bar of soap that has been on the behinds of ANYONE..I have my soap and spongeythingy..hidden from the children..(sorry but the boys are icky lol..) and it drives me nuts when my ss says..wait I am itching my leg..NO YOU ARE SCRATCHING IT!!!!!! (yes ladies, I am tightly wound lol..but I think I am probably in good company ! LOL)

  • I definitely have some quirks! I HATE it when DH leans on a door handle, or on the stove door bar or on a counter or the table or anything.

Or when he tips in a chair. I really get after DH for little things that will damage the car over time(reving, hitting avoidable bumps, etc).

I hate getting wet! DH calls me a cat sometimes because if he splashes me or flicks water on me, I freak out! I don't even like shower until I've gotten all the way wet. I enjoy showers, but not the first minute or so while I'm "getting" wet. Once I'm all wet, I'm ok.

I hate when the bed comes un-made to the point of having to totally remake it. Before I was married, I would slide into bed very carefully, sleep pretty much in the same position, and slide out of bed in the morning. I basically didn't have to do anything to make my bed other than just smooth it out a tad and put the pretty pillows back on. DH is a "comforter only" kind of guy and never made his bed or anything until we got married. And he HATES that I insist on having the pretty (or useless, as he calls them) pillows.

I love loud and crazy music! Most people have always guessed that I'm a classical music type of person, but really, I have to watch what I listen to because the genres I like can have a lot of swearing and sexual references. There's still lots of good stuff, I just have to weed out the bad. DH's favorite music is Enya type and the LOTR sound track. I LOVE Evanescence, Creed, Britney Spears(don't shoot me!), and lots of the other music that is popular for college age people.

I have so many other things that are weird... These are just the ones that came off the top of my head!

  • wooden popsicle sticks and wooden spoons, and really anything I have to touch that is wooden and not polished with varnish - makes my teeth "itch"

  • I am the same about my toothbrush. I have my own little case for it that get's cleaned every week at least and my husband's is in a completely separate drawer. We are lucky enough to have our own bathroom. I don't mind sharing the bar soap with him, because I know it's just him. But with sponges and loofa's, my husband would be dead if I caught him using it.

I'm a neat/clean freak. Everything has to have a place and everything in it's place. No dirt or dingy messes please. I've had to lighten up a lot since I've been married, because my husband is the opposite. I swear he still never notices when I've gone in and totally cleaned up a room, because he just plops stuff down like it doesn't matter. For example, I'll have the mail all neatly stacked up in piles to go through later and he'll come in and look through it all and have is sprawled all over the counter! Really gets on my nerves (but I've learned to live with it) :).

As far as "annoying" habits that I have, I think that is as far as it goes.

  • I don't think that's odd.  I think that's common sense.

I insist on everyone closing the toilet lid before flushing.

  • I asked my husband if I have any oddities or quirks and he said no! We both are very laid back and have chosen the "it's not worth getting upset over" approach to our marriage. I hugged him and said thank you for being patient with me and he said in his sarcastic tone "yeah it is tough having my best friend in my home, it is tough having my lover in my home, it sure is tough having my wife in my home"...I LOVE my husband! He is amazing!

You might find it odd that I have to sleep with the tv on and that I don't make the bed or fold the laundry. but my husband and I are both that way so it doesn't cause any problems.

I only fold laundry once a month, what's the point if it's just going to be dirty the next day?  I usually just throw it all on our spare bed.  I hate laundry.  :)

  • I can't stand for people to talk to me in the car.  I'm fine with calm music playing, but no talk radio and definetly no kids talking. I hand my kid the iPhone when I get into the car so he'll be quiet and play games.

I have to be somewhere 15 mintues early or I'm late!!! I mean even if we show up on time I feel like I'm late.  And I'm the first one to leave too. I don't dawdle.

I HATE Shopping...I'm so not a female when it comes to shopping, speed shopper, if I can't get in and get out in less than 30 minutes I send my husband with a list and money.  I'll write up a list, and give him the money and send him to the store.  He saves money from me cause he comparison shops, while I grab whatever I see first.

I hate left turns...I'll go around the block before I'll make a left turn on a busy street....I'm very weird that way.

As for my husband.....I can't get him to wear pants at home....loves to just walk around in his garments.....hate that.

He won't pick up his socks for nothing...I mean the other day I found 5 pairs sitting under his chair...WTH???

He can fall asleep in the middle of a conversation....granted he works weird hours and never gets a decent night sleep but man...I would love to have a conversation without him falling asleep.

He can not tell a story.....he thinks he can but he rambles and stumble and goes on and on and on...and tells you the same thing over and over again.....really boring.

  • My house can be a complete disaster and it doesn't bother me at all, as long as my sock and underwear drawers are organized.

Actually....I didn't think any of the ones in your original post was that weird....and even this one...I don't miind the mayo/mustard, pb/j mixing so much. But the rest, I agree!

I also will not drink milk FROM the carton (but DH does) because (well besides it being germ sharing) the crusties around the edge gross me out!!
