This year I decided that I will donate to Locks of Love.  I'm waiting for my hair to be long enough so that I can donate at least 10-12 inches.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need.

Scleroderma Foundation - help in the fight against scleroderma by supporting research and the Scleroderma Foundation. You can donate your time, money, vehicle, or other goods and services. If you'd like to remember a loved one or honor someone you care about through a donation to the Scleroderma Foundation, you'll be helping 300,000 others at the same time.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is as unique and special as the stories that motivate our dedicated walkers, donors and volunteers. Each step we take is personal and each donation helps save lives. Making Strides walks are non-competitive and three to five miles in length. Since 1993, nearly six million walkers have raised more than $400 million. In 2009 alone, nearly 700,000 walkers across the country collected $60 million to save lives from breast cancer.

My daughter Mychelle is paralyzed, and she has spina bifida and back in 2007 she had to have an extensive back surgery, and her hair needed to be cut, well we called everywhere and finally found this place it's called

I'm the mother to a preemie so the Children's Miracle Network and the March of Dimeshave both been an amazing blessing to my family and I have a team to raise money for both causes.

My sons cub scout troop also raises money for the Cancer Society through our local Relay for Life.

I normally don't promote charities but I just feel this charity is special for its uniqueness. Its kinda hard to explain. It helps us parents get fit (the parents get together and train for local runs (5ks, 10ks, marathons), swims, and even cycling..so all the way up to tris while raising money for Autism. I know we live all over the place and what is good is this charity is growing across the U.S. and you choose what charity the money you raise goes to. Below is the link to their web site. Check it out.

My husband just recently joined our local chapter and he is running a 10k in 2 weeks. The stress release this is is awesome. Along with the networking with other parents with kids on the spectrum. Also knowing any funds we raise go to a charity of our choice is nice.
