DAY FIVE... STAYIN' ALIVE!

130.5 this morning... that's four pounds in four days! Yeah! If you read my earlier post about the fundraiser event that I'm helping with tomorrow, you'll know that I'm going to blow my diet tomorrow. I'm kind of bummed about it. I'm really looking forward to the event, but this ten day is going well so far, and I hate to get off track. Maybe it's good, though. It will give you who are reading this a realistic picture of how to fit a healthy lifestyle into a busy lifestyle. My plan is to try and bring along a snack or two that I can keep in the cooler in my car (along with bottled water) and munch on that throughout the day... and then of course to not go overboard drinking wine coolers, which is never a good idea anyway!

So, I'm feeling a little grumpy today (okay, call it bitchy). I'm not sure if it's a result of the diet in general... four days with no bread could make someone grumpy... or if it's just because my husband is pissin' me off! Unrelated issue and not part of this thread...  Either way, I'm a pretty happy natured person and I'll work through it (or maybe bury him in the back yard).

Down in a ball of flames! So I did pretty good today... had lunch at McDonald's. A southwest salad with grilled chicken. Didn't think to tell them to hold the cheese... that was a no no. But I was feeling pretty good about my choices. Didn't touch the fries in Tori's happy meal. Had bottled water. Went to the grocery store on the way home and picked up some stuff I need for upcoming events. One of which was the last night of VBS at my mom's church and my granddaughter was attending so I wanted to be a part. I had a plan that I was going to eat right before church and then just nibble on the 900 pounds of junk that would be served at church. Well, I ran out of time, had to stuff a little crab meat and a few mushrooms and olives in my face as I brushed my hair, packed some cold chicken, got my young un ready and got out the door! Yeh, NOT supper! So by the time they finally got around to the food at 9:00 p.m. I needed something. I made pretty good choices... the chicken I had brought along with cantaloupe and grapes. Oh, and a half a deviled egg (oops). Then I helped clean up and there was this fresh cut watermelon sitting there and it was oh, so good! Must've ate about a quart of that one bite at a time! Overall, I wasn't awful... I didn't have not one of the cookies or cupcakes that were all over the place. Funny thing was that they didn't even tempt me... but now that watermelon was callin' my name! And really, I'm not supposed to have fruit at all if I want to be true to a ten day. And seriously, 9:00 p.m. is NEVER a good time to eat a meal from the perspective of health! I expect I'll be up a pound tomorrow... and then there's tomorrow event!
