Mommies in Vancouver, WA
So thanks to everyone who has posted this past week. Please let me know if this is something you would like to continue or something you are not interested in.
QOTW: If you have a child who is going to start school this week are you excited and why?

by crzymom23boys on Aug. 31, 2008 at 1:44 PMI have 3....count them THREE...kids going to school this year. 7th grade, 3rd grade and pre-school! Why am I excited? Because I will have no kids of my own in the house...a first in 12 years! Oh it is going to be fun to have 3 hours of "me" time!! The boys have been a handful this summer and I think even they are getting antsy for school to begin. Wednesday can not come fast enough, IMHO. |

by SaraCVT on Aug. 31, 2008 at 5:42 PMI have 2 kids going to kindergarten this year--twins--and I am very excited. They've been to preschool, so this isn't their first year, and they and I don't have the separation anxiety thing going on. They've already seen their classroom and know that some of their friends from last year are going to be in their class, so they're excited. I'm thrilled to have some time to myself, and some time to get the house in order! Also, I think they're bored, and some mental activity will be good for them. SaraCVT |

by JuJu58 on Sep. 4, 2008 at 9:46 PMI can't believe we don't have more posts than this. I was really hoping that more people would participate than this. I always hope that when I check in that someone has told us something about them or their day. I guess I will discontinue this thread since it seems to not be very popular. Julie |

by crzymom23boys on Sep. 5, 2008 at 1:05 AMI really like the idea Julie. I too hoped to see some participation. We had our second day of Smart Start Kindergarten. It is a world of difference let me tell you. To have 7 to 8 kiddos to focus on at a time is much easier than having 24 all coming at you at once! Marty is LOVING preschool! I did the 'drive thru' drop off/pick up today...it was really nice. A little bit of a wait but nothing too terribly long. The other two are adjusting well to their school routines. Any plans for the weekend? I have a get together with some Mom friends of mine Saturday (we are playing poker). Other than that...nothing exciting planned here. Have a great Friday! Amy |

by amymarie0315 on Sep. 5, 2008 at 11:34 AMI agree, I think this is a good idea. I haven't been on long enough to actually post anything to this, though. School started last week for me. Amy, you need to teach me how to play poker so I can not be the "easy win" anymore! What kind of poker? :) This weekend I am going to work on school (woo-hoo!) and a friend of mine is hosting a party Saturday for Fisher Price products. I'm really excited for that. Sevren should have a lot of fun at that. Quoting crzymom23boys: |

by JuJu58 on Sep. 5, 2008 at 2:04 PMAmy, We should try to get some moms together and play poker sometime. Of course I just play Texas Hold'em but to me there is no other poker!!!! |

by crzymom23boys on Sep. 5, 2008 at 2:05 PMAmy...it is just penny poker. I love playing it. I use to cream the boys when I was a teen and they hated it. That is what happens when you Dad shows you how to play when you are 6! LOL! Ooo the Fisher Price Party sounds like fun. Is it one of those "house party" things or is it something from here at CafeMom? I was looking into one of them but I don't know if I could get that many kids together (or that my poor little house could deal with a group of boys....LOL! Have fun! |
