Weaning from pacifier/thumb?

My youngest daughter just turned 1 still uses her pacifier. My older daughter got bored with it by age 6 months so it was no problem weaning her from it. She weaned herself.

Shayla however still is attached to hers and doesnt like giving it up. I've tried hiding it and she'll just scream and scream until I get a migrane, give in and go get it for her.

If she's not using her paci she's using her thumb, and I'm concerned it'll mess up her pretty little teeth.

How do I get her to give up her paci and thumb without me getting a major headache??

I've heard of cutting the end off of the paci so that it doesn't "work" anymore... but since she could switch to her thumb I'm not sure... :(
