Baby & Family Events in VA BCH PUBLIC LIBRARY for the summer

Hi All,

It seems like this is the only VA BCH public library that will continue these sessions throughout the summer. Hope to see you there!!!

 *Sign up begins 15 minutes before the sessions beginLapsit Storytime THURSDAYS 10:15am & 10:45am
For children, ages 6 to 24 months oldIn each 15-20 minute session, designed to enhance language development and foster a love of reading, children enjoy a variety of rhymes, songs, simple stories and engaging movements, while retaining the comfort and familiarity of parent-child interaction. Each child must be accompanied by his or her parent/adult caregiver. Space is limited.Toddler Storytime TUESDAYS 10:15am & 10:45am
For children, ages 2 to 3 yearsThese 20-25 minute storytimes are fueled by youthful energy and parent-child interaction. A staff presenter introduces a variety of fingerplays, action rhymes, songs and stories, while the parent acts as a role model, leading the child through a lively mix of participatory and attentive behaviors. Space is limited."On My Own" Preschool Storytime WEDNESDAY 10:15am & 11:00am
For children, ages 3-5 yearsThese 30 minute sessions may include stories, fingerplays, songs, action rhymes, crafts, flannel board and puppet presentation. An important step in the progression toward school readiness, this storytime is designed for children who are able to attend "on their own" without parents. Children who need to attend storytime with a parent may participate more comfortably in Family or Toddler Storytime (for 2 & 3 year olds). Space is limited.Family Storytime WEDNSDAY EVENINGS AT 7:00pm
For families with children of all agesFamilies with children of all ages are welcome to attend these sessions together. Programs may be themed to reflect holidays, or special interests, and often include music, movement, puppets, storytelling as well as dramatic reading of picture books. Times and formats are specially chosen to promote fun, shared family experiences. Space may be limited.
