Hi, I live in Bamberg. Bamberg is a relatively small base, but the town is beautiful. Make sure you take PEP when you get here. Kimberly will show you all sorts of things like how to use the bus system, how to order your basic meats, cheeses and breads if you go to a grocery store off post, how to order lunch at a restaurant, etc. She also takes you on a tour around the base and has people come in to talk about the available resources for things like finding a job or getting your lightbulb changed, haha. It is an extremely helpful class and the people you meet in the class could be your best friends for the rest of your tour. I know =)

I am moving to Bamberg too. I move in October, so if you get there before me, let me know. I am curious about housing too. We are also trying to decide of we are going to sell our cars or ship one. I heard the base is tiny so I wonder if most people live off base. Let me know if you find out anything and I will do the same!

We're moving to bamberg in march. Thankfully, we have another 6 months to prepare, but we're still trying to figure out if we should sell our cars, etc.

Hello, I was reading  your comments and I help i am moving to bamberg in June, I'm a single parents i am wondering if i should bring my kids with me or wait to i find housing and a daycare for them, because of in processing, I'm also hearing the base it fairly small so do you even need a car?
