I was just wondering if there was any type of requirement for words per minute or anything for medical transcriptionist.

I'm at about 55-60 wpm right now but I have heard you need to be up in the 70's?

Will it be impossible to find a job only typing 55-60 wpm?

I would not say that at all. Speed is helpful, but accuracy is most important. Also, using text expanders and templates or macros will help your "speed" in order to earn more $$$. I honestly feel that starting out where you are is fine. I had a friend going through the course at the same time as me and her speed was in the 30s. She's found several jobs!!
